how to make friends at uni when I am quiet?

Ok so I would prefer if none mentions freshers because I don't drink.

I just want to know experiences from quiet people on how they made friends and their journey.

I am a nice person and I am usually bubbly once I get to know people however that isn't the first impression when you meet me.

I have read some threads on tips and stuff.
-I am quite but not too quiet.. I would get frustrated hanging around people that don't speak but would love to interact with people that do speak and are out goin.

-you may tell me to get over it and who cares.. but if Iggive of the persona that I am bubbly at first.. then people would always expect that off me and they wouldn't want to speak with me first unless I approach them. I also find that if I do this, it may come across as if I am confident.. but I'm not really confident especially since I'm soft spoken and people are usually like "Huh speak louder"

So I just want tips from quiet people with their experience of making friends at uni without even knowing anyone.
