Shunted into the ****ing friend zone!!!!!!

So here's the deal;

Met a girl online about 6 weeks ago. We texted and called each other, and went on a date last sunday, which I thought went really well.

Then today she rattles out that immortal line that every guy dreads to hear; "Maybe we should be friends?"

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sick of it! It always happens! I don't usually mind but this person's one who I really, really like, we get on so well together and we're always texting/snapchatting/calling each other (we don't live long-distance, it's just awkward to get the time to see each other).

I'm seeing her again this sunday, how the hell do I act? And what do I do in the meantime? She asked me what my thoughts were after she said it and I told her straight; that I'm pretty gutted, that I thought and hoped it was going somewhere and that my mind's in a bit of a mess because of it. She said there wasn't much of a spark - am I totally dead in the water after a comment like that or can I put the spark into it?

The worst thing is I know she's dating other guys as well so I just know what's gonna happen - next few weeks down the line she'll announce she has a boyfriend and I'll be in the zone for good.

Anyone got any advice? I'd appreciate it, I feel completely down in the dumps now. :(
