Moving to be with girlfriend at Uni...

Hi folks...hope you're well...

After some advice if possible. Might turn into a bit of a long post...

I'm just about to leave the Army. Last month is in June. Been in since I was 17, I'm now 21. The Army has been great, and whilst I've been in I've been training in counselling and anger management. I'm now all set to go, the plan has fallen into place.

What wasn't part of the plan was meeting my girlfriend last year. The relationship has gone from strength to strength, and we're great together. However, she's off to Uni in October. This is great, but all I've heard about relationships and Uni are horror stories. Long distance is a bit of a pig in my opinion and, long story short, we discussed me moving to Sheffield with her. She jumped all over the idea, loves it. Now that's all very well but what's the consensus on this? Good idea or bad? I love her without question and would do anything for her....

But is it a good idea given all the **** stories about Uni and relationships...? I don't want to get in her way or be a burden. I turned down a journalism course at Uni in favour of the Army. It has been so much more useful in terms of life experience because 95% of people don't do it...so I can't be doing with risks of cheating at parties etc. Got no time for it.

Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you all in advance :-)
