"It just happened"

I was talking to a friend the other day, she's only 22 and I have known her a few years. She has a penchant for falling for guys too easily then getting used, and then sometimes going back for more (i.e. a visit turns into sex). For instance, recently she broke up with a guy and then some weeks later met up with him and they ended up sleeping together, to which she replied to my comment with "Well, it just happened"...a phrase I hate. Why? because I love sex as much as most people, however I have the ability to keep it in my pants if I need to so don't understand how someone can go through the stages of kissing, foreplay, getting undressed and then going at it without at some point saying "Stop". Tripping over 'just happens', Car accidents 'Just happen'..things that happen in an almost instantaneous moment and leave no time for recovery. How can sex 'Just happen'?! I know the answer is it doesn't, and these people really just want it, but am I the only one who finds that description wildly comical?
