Perhaps this is a cultural thing I do not understand as the wife and I grew up in different countries. Our current house has a huge jacuzzi in the master bath, but my wife REFUSES to ever use it. When I ask her why, she thinks that the idea of any "tub bath" is not really sanitary unless you get a shower before getting into the bath. (similar rules to a public pool in that everyone must shower before going into the pool).
At the moment just the kids have claimed it, and it is always full of barbie mermaids and battleships. At least they use it regularly and have a blast. I'll make it a point to clean it really good and try to convince my wife that a nice bath can be relaxing at the end of a stressful day, but no luck.
My only complaint is that filling it uses ALL the hot water in our plumbing system, which makes taking a shower beforehand or just afterwards uncomfortable. This makes it frustrating to try and compromise to my wife's idea of showering beforehand.
Any advice? Do other people have jacuzzis that never get used?

Put the internet to work for you.
