So I've just broken up with my long-term girlfriend (I won't go into the reasons, but I think you'd agree if I want someone else it's best that I ended things) and I'd like to ask a girl from work out. Apart from telling her straight out that I'm now single, which isn't my style, I can't think of a fool-proof way of getting that date.
I'll give you a bit of context: She works in the same department as me but in a different team so we see each other only in the corridor and say hello when we pass. We went out on a work night out recently, whilst I was in a relationship with someone else, and danced together and I could tell that she liked me from the way she looked at me on the dance floor. I suspect that something more could have happened but she knows that I was with someone back then and I think it might have made her back off.
The idea I have is to mention my newly found singledom to the people in my team and hope that word somehow gets round to her. Then arrange another work night out and hopefully "close the deal".
It's not a question as such, but I could really use some advice from both sides of the situation :)
