so a manager at work was complaining about my shoes. he said 'so do you think those shoes look smart?' and he has said other things similar, but i dont like when asked a rhetorical question.
i find it incredibly patronizing when im 24 years old. i am mature enough to understand he may have a point, i was wearing the shoes because my others had broken and had also seen another colleague wearing similar for a long period of time so therefore thought it would be ok.
but why cant people just tell you your shoes are unacceptable rather than asking you your opinion , where you only really have the option of agreeing with the manager, making you feel really small. why do they do this?
