I'm gay and my boyfriend dumped me a few days ago (the day before valentine's day) after seeing each other for three months.
After the tedious "I don't think I can do this any more" he said the expected "it's not me, it's you" and "I hope we can just be friends". He also said that he isn't ready for being in a gay relationship and that he doesn't want the responsibility that goes along with it. I asked him if he was bored and he responded: "not bored as such but I just don't like having the responsibility of always having to see you". He said all this while appearing pseudo-emotional and finishing it with "it is what it is".
To put things into context, he asked me to please not break up with him because he really likes me and wants to be with me. This was after I pointed out that things were a bit rocky but I assured him that I felt the same way and had no intention of breaking up with him. We're both at the same college at Durham so I'll need to see him a lot but, luckily, I was already thinking of transferring to LSE or York.
Should I be angry? Am I justified for feeling angry?
Put the internet to work for you.
