A bit of mis-communication/confusion

I met a girl at my SU last week and got her number. She was obviously into me, and was pretty keen by the sounds of her texts (quite flirty, and persistent with texting etc). Last night we were going to meet up again while we were out (uni sports night) and I was with friends who I hadn't seen in a while and didn't want to just leave them as soon as I got there. While I was with them, I saw her with a bunch of her friends too, and so didn't want to approach her at that point. Neither of us were near enough to acknowledge each others' presence at any point.

I left for a bit and came back to see her chatting to another guy - and I'm pretty sure she got with him afterwards. I'm not massively bothered - just a bit perplexed. I know from speaking to her (and people who know her) that she's not easy or slutty or anything. She was clearly into me, and I know now that I probably should have approached her.... but is there anything I can do now? I just don't want it to go to waste, seeing as I know she was interested.

I'm guessing she thinks I wasn't that bothered about her. Obviously I haven't texted her (what could I say? I don't want to say something soppy or suggest that I'm irritated or anything) but I want to find some way of showing that I'm actually interested, without sounding too clingy - and without showing that I think she thinks I'm not interested, just in case (what I mean by that is that I could be wrong - there's always a slight possibility she simply isn't bothered about me).

I was going to pretend I hadn't seen her and text saying 'where were you last night?!' but I'm not sure I could get away with that...
