I've read many posts on TAM from folks that left abusive, seriously neglectful, or selfish spouses. Almost universally, they indicate that although leaving may have been very hard they are happier with their new life.
I'm wondering if there are any stories here from people who decided to leave marriages that are not horrible, but not that great either. If so, I am very curious how such people view their decision to leave in hindsight.
I understand that the conventional wisdom is to appreciate all of the good things in such a marriage, and to work hard on fixing the bad. But if you are convinced that the bad parts are unfixable, leaving the marriage should at least be considered.
Breaking up a terrible marriage is to me a no-brainer. What about leaving a "meh" marriage?
