Really want to stop moaning about this but, given the circumstances of my breakup (see yesterday's thread: she said she was losing sleep over hiding it from her controlling and orthodox Hindu family)... do you think it's possible for us to have a friendship?
As much as I wanted to be with her, I'm not ready for the commitment involved. A little selfish, but I don't feel mature or independent enough to handle the stress of a secret relationship. So it was a fairly clean breakup-hell we got the bus home together that evening!
She's texting me a lot asking how I am etc,, and wants to hang out, '2 vouchers for Burger King'. But it went from 'Friday lunch?' to 'we'll arrange a time later in case something else crops up :)'' to 'see you soon!' and I suspect this will carry on as she moves on. I'm struggling. I don't want to be played like a fool.
As hard as it is, I don't want her back (as in, it was too much drama in the end when I have to get my **** together too, it's a dead-end relationship at our age) but I do care for her a lot, and want to fit her in my life, providing she makes the effort to do the same.
