Black girls & TSR.

  • Thread Starter

Here's me addressing the black girls situation on here.

I'm going to delete the TSR app because I never wanna come back to this community. I've always and will always believe that black girls are extremely attractive. TSR brings down our kind all the time, and although I know the above statement about black girls being gorgeous is true, it's started to mess with my self esteem more than I'd care to admit. I'm forced to ask, is this what people really think about us? Why do they try to use every opportunity to bring us down?
I've read things here like "black girls are fake "i.e weaves and "some have African features". Erm, excuse me but why are people so threatened by black girls with weaves?! Are women not allowed to do whatever they'd like with their hair? Do other races not wear extensions too? I read on here that black women don't love themselves because it's a different texture of weaves compared to their hair, what nonsense? Some black girls get afro kinky/mongolian weaves, it's not just the straight texture. It's all textures including our own. I wear weaves, braids and my natural hair. Weaves are not too bad to manage, they can be switched up (dyed etc) without damaging the natural hair, and one can get them in different lengths, so it's fun to change up your look that way. It's also a protective hairstyle that shields your hair while it grows. Going off the same ridiculous logic, are you trying to tell me girls who wear fake tans hate themselves? Aren't they making themselves dar ker chemically? Or Asian/African girls who bleach their skin to look paler? Hey, how about girls who wear makeup? Or girls of other races who line their lips/get Botox to make them look fuller?(the same disgusting African features everyone despises) Oh what about girls who were born brunette but bleach their hair blonde? Or lol, how about curly haired girls who straighten their hair? Do they not love themselves or how they were born? Or wait, the white/Latina/Asian girls who wear Afro wigs or braids? Isn't that a problem too? Here's what it is : Girls of all races can do whatever the **** they want to their appearance and no one has a say in whatsoever. Let people do what they want, and stop wiggling judgy hypocritical fingers at everything, esp in the case of black girls.
African features aren't attractive, yep. POC born with large noses and large lips and nappy hair, deserve no love, isn't that what we're saying TSR? What a ****ed up place this is. Personally I wear weaves and **** for reasons above, but I do believe the media has made black women want to change themselves because of what is deemed beautiful. African features don't match y'all's 'preferences', so I can understand when these girls think they have to change somehow to fit.
Anyway, this last paragraph is unimportant and not what I'm trying to address here, the former ones are.
I would like to hear black people's opinion on this (because they're the ones who would've experienced it as well) but despite what everyone says - and please correct me if I'm wrong -many people in the UK are still closet racist in the way that some believe subconsciously that black people are the inferior race. They think white girls are more attractive than black girls, going off on nothing apart from colour. Some black boys are starting to believe it as well and that's heartbreaking to say the least. Using 'preference' to sugar coat racism. I know preference is fine, but a lot of you on here have written off the entire race and that's not preference, it's racism. I've seen at least 6 well educated, gorgeous black women here in England (1's a doctor, 3 are engineers, 1's a natural scientist, and the other's an author) who are all very sweet in nature but have a massive problem with getting guys. Now I'm not saying me or my friends have that problem, but I know quite a few more women who do. After uni I'm packing my **** and leaving, I can't stay in a place where people might think my children are inferior based on their skin colour.
