I've touched on this subject in my other threads, but was wondering if anyone else has this issue or not?
The Bible clearly states that couples MUST have regular sex with each other within the marriage, because it is God's plan. But does it still count if it is just "going through the motions" with little desire? My wife will rarely say no, but her lack of interest when I ask, usually causes me to decline. Her argument was always that she doesn't withhold from me, I choose to, but what kind of man wants it this way. I don't think she has actively initiated in 2 years, she says sex isn't a big thing to her anymore? She does love me and shows it every other way.
It has taken the pressure and rejection away from me by quit asking, but then I am purposely sinning. We went over 3 months last year and this year. If I didn't ask, we would stay at probably a couple times a year?
I realize now that God's will comes before my will, so we decided as a couple for a mid month sex commitment. I chose once a month, because any more than that would guarantee non excitement. She has promised to try and "be in the mood" during that time.
I guess what I'm asking is this? Does God think much about emotionless sex or just that we perform the action regularly?
I know people that go to church & sleep, text, read and pay little attention for the hour they are there, but maintain that it "counts" for their obligation. In my opinion if you don't have a relationship with Jesus, go to worship and partake, you may as well stay home and with HIM, I don't think he is "counting" this?
Our sex life for the first 10 years was great, but she said she was hoping to get pregnant and when she realized it wasn't going to happen, she lost interest.
The Bible uses terms like "submit" and that implies to not turn down, but it doesn't say anything about enjoyment, passion etc. Who wants a boring sex life with a submissive partner, going without actually made me feel better. It's still a sin. I saw this on a bumper sticker- "Satan loves sex before marriage & no sex within a marriage the same!" Both violate God's plan for us.
