Okay, so I am a girl and one of my closest friends is a guy. I have known him since we were three and we are now seventeen. A couple of years ago he had a crush on me and we went out for a few weeks and then just went back to being friends; it was weird for a few days but it was all fine and we went back to the way we were, probably closer than ever.
Anyway, over the half term, him and a few others went to Morocco on a school trip. When he came back I was the only person he had bought a present for (a really beautiful necklace). He also got my other best friend to talk to me because he has a crush on me but doesn't want to make it awkward.
Now here is the problem:
I like someone else, and he knows this. I highly doubt anything else will happen with this other guy, although we do flirt a bit. I also don't want to hurt his feelings, or string him along... What do I do?
I know you are all going to say to be honest with him, but I don't know how to phrase it as he already knows that I like someone else!
