Please do not hate me for this, it will sounds reprehensible however keep an open mind. My friends father recently died of cancer and she came and told me and my other friends of the news that he had passed away anyhow straight away I made a joke (I will not tell you what the joke was as it is context dependant and I do not want to get into an irrelevant discussion about whether the joke is humorous or not). It sounds awful I know however, I have a tendency to make light of death and other morbid situation, I find overly emotional people crying and getting angry so cringey that I just have to make a joke or quip. I did it at my grandmothers funeral and everyone laughed then, so It has developed into a habit. Anyhow all my other friends found the joke funny but the girl herself just started crying and then after a while ran off. Anyhow, she called me on my mobile later and said she was upset that I had been such an insensitive ****, however she had now forgiven men . Can I consider that the matter has been to rest and how should I try to stop being so facetious over such matters in future?
