I fancy him but he likes androgynous women?

  • Thread Starter

I fancy this guy I know, but he really likes androgynous/"tomboyish" women (he's a male feminist and doesn't believe in gender roles) who have a kind of understated look, like Kristen Stewart. I get on with him quite well, but I look and act in a very "feminine" way (I wear skirts and dresses all the time, wear make-up occasionally, like to have long hair, that sort of thing). I'm also not sexist but I like a guy to act a bit masculine (not in an aggressive way but an assertive way), though I still like him even though he's quite soft and I guess you could say passive. He is a bit passive aggressive sometimes unfortunately, and I prefer straight talking people.

He has also said outright to a friend that he really doesn't like taller girls (he's about five foot) as he feels like a midget next to them. I am not a giant and actually the same height as him, but I wear heels a lot (for work and so on) which makes me taller than him a lot of the time. When a guy says something like that, does he just mean if a girl isn't wearing heels?

Also, I am not sure if we would get on politically. I have mixed political viewpoints but some are right-wing, whereas he is left-wing on a lot of things (he supports the legalisation of drugs, thinks we should increase immigration) and also almost dislikes rich people, whereas I want to earn a lot so this could be a problem.

Having said that he is very kind. Thoughts? Could we work out? I don't want to ruin our friendship by asking him out if he will probably say no.
