LTR and "stay at home" type connection to succesful marraige

I've thought about this before and just posted about it in a new thread.

Wanted to get other people's opinion/thoughts on the subject.

In the early to mid 20s I learned/figured something out about myself. Even though I was pretty social and outgoing during teen years/early 20s, i noticed that I enjoyed comfort of my home SO much more than going out.

I'm sure priority changes in life (relationship/children) played a big role in that but regardless, I just felt more "myself".

As the years went by I started paying attention to people around me more. We live on a middle class town, subdivision type of a street with houses close to each other). Most of the neighbors have been on the street for 20+ years and everyone knows each other pretty well but not too well. Everyone on the street is in the LTR. Most with kids, some without.

Anyways, it seems like most people are "stay at home" types. I hardly ever see my neighbors go out or have friends over. And if you really think about it, it seems about right. Figure we live in a 40k population city, you drive around town after work/at night and most are at home. Which makes sense, bars/clubs and places to eat would be filled with people if there was less stay at home types.

I don't even see most of my neighbors go out on friday/sat etc. or have friends over then. I find myself doing the same. I just enjoy the company of my wife and being with the kids.

I really put less and less emphasis on friends the older I get. It's almost like less is more (more people you have around, more drama etc).

Anyways, I think there might be a connection with succesful marriage and being a "stay at home type".

Am I wrong?

I also want to state that there is ALWAYS an exception to the rule and I know there is plenty of marriages that are social/no kids/etc that work just as well. So I don't want this to become "social" vs "stay at home" type battle here.

What do you guys think?
