I'm 16, and I have a few friends in school, but we are not really close, as I don't think they are the right people for me, really. I've had problems with low self esteem in the past and feeling inadequate and all the rest, but I'm slowly gaining some confidence. Year 11 has finished and I would really like to meet some new people this summer.
I've got no problem talking to people online, but I'd rather have friends in real life. And the problem is I don't have a clue where to meet people. Both my parents have no friends and are almost always alone. I go out a lot, but I'm always by myself. I have no idea how to approach people of my own age without sounding like a complete creep. I've thought about joining some classes at the gym but at the moment this is not possible as I have no money.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
