It's not even that he's bad looking, he's got good features and a lot to work with but his style (or lack of) is terrible.
I met him at a formal event, and he looked good in his suit... but as soon as I saw him in normal clothes... my reaction was
. I know it shouldn't matter and it's the inside that count (and he's a really great guy) but it's that awful that I'm just not attracted to him when he has his normal clothes on. I think it's his hair and his glassess too (glasses can be really good and geek-chic but his glasses are terrible). I don't know how I can describe how bad it is - it's like his clothes could fit another two people in them, but they're really smart clothes, so it looks like a little boy trying on his dads clothes. In other words, he couldn't make himself look worse if he was trying.
I really like his personality though and I do want to carry on dating him. I just want to be attracted to him, and I know I can be... my friends suggested I slowly replace his clothes with presents of new clothes... but isn't that kind of dishonest?/ I don't know if I could replace his current items fast enough/ I'm not even in a relationship with the guy yet - when is it too soon to give him a makeover/ what if it turns out he actually likes the way he dresses or is attached to his clothing?

Put the internet to work for you.
