Out of practice!!

There hasn't been a man I have been interested in, in ages. My last boyfriend and I were together for three years, so I'm a little out of practice in how these things work.

There's a guy that lives in the flat above me, and we ended up getting a bit friendly on a night out. He had expressed interest in me before so I thought yeah why not. Days after that we were texting every day but I was too busy to meet up. Eventually I was free so we met, just getting to know each other etc, it was nice. He would just come over often, after work, it was good.

I thought things were going well. I realised that I did like him and he had mumbled something about liking me. Then he stopped texting. I was busy working evenings so I didn't contact him. Then after a few days after no contact I asked him if he wanted to do something that evening. Within 10 minutes there was a knock at my door, and it was him. He said he was working that evening, but came in for half an hour before work. Things seemed fine.

That was on Saturday and I haven't heard from him since. I do quite like him so I don't want things to just fizzle out. But I don't want to sound desperate and needy either. So far it has just been him asking to meet up, except that one Saturday, so I suppose I haven't made too much effort.

So I was thinking tomorrow I could text him asking if he wanted to come over and watch a film?

The only reason why I am worrying about this, is because he is close friends with one of my friends, and I know most of his group of friends. So I don't want them to be laughing behind my back.
Yes I know I am probably worrying unnecessarily.

So how do I avoid coming across too eager?
How do I know if he's not interested anymore, or if he is just waiting for me to contact him?

So sad that at 23 years old I have to ask the people of TSR. But I don't know what to doooo.
