| Hi everyone! This thread is inspired by another thread I saw in this forum, which was too specific to a particular case, so didn't really answer my questions. Anon because I know a few people on here in real life. There are a couple of guys I'm friends with now, and a few others in the past, who seem to behave like boyfriends. They know that I'm not interested in them (based on conversations we've had), but they continue to do things like: - Taking me out for dinner and drinks, just the two of us. - Telling me how beautiful/pretty/hot they think I am. - Buying me presents like chocolate boxes and teddy bears. - Really keen on me spending time with their friends and family. - Doing huge favours for me. Initially, when this happens, I suspect it might be a sneaky plan to sleep with me (unfortunately I'm always suspicious of people - bit of a pessimist :p). However, they NEVER attempt to sleep with me and continue behaving the way I described above for months or even years. I've even shared bedrooms with these guys on several occasions, but they've never even hinted at sex. The most they ever ask for is a hug or a cuddle, but they are definitely straight and single. So what might they be hoping to get out of this? Do they just want some female company or what? Are they just being genuinely nice and respecting the fact that I'm not interested? Do any of you guys do this to your female friends? I'm confused! :S I'm 23, by the way. Some of these guys are my age, some are a few years older. | |||
