Needy friend

Me and this girl became friends recently, like in the past few months, but these days she is just always on about this guy she has an on/off relationship with. He's really just a horrible person who sleeps around and calls her easy when she tries to break up with him....but then she feels sorry for him?! Anyway, I spent the whole of yesterday with her and all she talked about was how she's over him and going to end it with him and whatnot, but that's like the 7th time she's said all that. So she said she said it, but just now she says she can't wait to s**g him on prom night. Worst of all, we're sharing a hotel room and I know for a fact this guy will see it as an opportunity for a free room! I think the main thing that's really bugging me is the fact that she never takes my advice after she's been talking about him all day and will text me at any hour just to say he's text her. She constantly gets upset by him and I'm always there for her, but she never stop going on about it; I barely have time to look at my own problems :( How the hell can I actually make her see sense? And is it wise to try and distance myself just a little?
