| Some of these I did right, some I wish I had been more aware of. These are what stood out for me in my life circumstances. What stood out for you in the decades or you think will for your future? 20s - It's never too early to start saving and investing for nestegg, emergency fund, house, etc. Work or volunteer at different careers to decide what you like to do for work if you're not sure. 30s - To have bought a house on as short term as possible and stayed put until it was paid off. Keep in shape as well as you can to keep up with kids for the next 15 yrs, and to make it easier to stay in shape later. 40s - Be in the place/house/job/area you want to be for the next 20 yrs. Be settled unless it is for good reason to make a move. After 40s, it is much harder to make big life changes. After 40s, for many, the tunnel narrows on types of jobs you can do or will be hired for. Harder to get home loan after 40s "depending on circumstances". 50s - So you are an empty nester - This is when parents/other elderly relatives are needing help. You may need to be there for them as soon as 50s. Tell me more! | |||
