Apparently I professed love....

On Saturday I had a social for my course as we had finished our exams, and things got out of hand very quickly. It started off as a bar crawl, and then led to a club and to say everyone was a mess is an understatement. There's one guy on my course who I have slept with a few times, and he was out but not drinking much as he's having a few problems with his stomach. I remember being sat down at a booth with him , and talking (for how long I don't know) and I was really drunk and remember very little about what was said. However, yesterday I sent out some facebook messages regarding a group project we have to start and he replied and he put at the end "Talking to you was the highlight of my night on Saturday :D" and I replied asking what I had said and when he replied it was about the group project, and he ignored my question regarding what I said. However, when I asked my housemate (we do the same course) if he knew what I said he went "I can't remember exactly, but you definitely had your head on his shoulder and was saying something like how wonderful he was, and you think you're in love with him". Obviously, I'm mortified but why would he bring it up and not tell me what I said?
