Firstly, I must state whilst this is an issue over money, it's not the financial problems that it causes which is the issue, hence I am confused, so I will explain;
My friend lives an hour away from London and bought a train ticket to the value of £42.00 but never used it, and he asked me if I would return it at the station on his behalf, as he has been served by the same guy a few times, whilst it is perfectly legit, it apparently takes a long admin process and so they are reluctant to process it, they also charge you £10 admin fee, so he would have got £32.00 from this
& so, I was like ok fine I'll do it for you ,but the guy at the station said because it wasn't the same company he couldn't refund me and I had to go to a different station, but the other station was closed when I went there
At this moment in time, I wanted to go home (I had his unused ticket) and said I would return back 2 days later and do it for him, since he is reluctant to do it himself (so, we met weds, meant to meet up on Friday)
On thursday, something happened, so I told him I couldn't meet him on Friday, so he told me to post his tickets to him, and I was like ok
Friday came, and he started becoming aggressive, like CAN YOU PLEASE F KING CONFIRM YOU WILL POST IT, IT IS PISSING ME OFF !!
it is now Monday, ticket hadn't arrived at his, and he started having a proper go at me, what the ****, etc .. sent 12 text messages (I haven't read them, just saw a few words, and I was like ... ok will wait for you to calm down)
Now here is what is I don't get;
1. he doesn't care about the money itself, he is well-off (for example, on the wednesday he bought a £200 helicopter ride for his gf just casually like that)
he even admits, it's not the money, it's the principle of it, "you said you would come on friday, you told me 100 times you would, you failed, etc .."
2. it is always with money, if money wasn't involved, and I said, sorry ,something came up, he would be like "that's cool, life happens etc .. next week is cool"
Hence I am confused
to clarify, I went to my local station on Friday, it didn't work, I was going to post it as I had mentioned (just was too busy to bloody confirm it for the 10th time that day) and so only posted it on saturday just because he went off the handle
This has happened before, I asked him for £100 and I said I will pay say 20th and 20th came, and he was like WTF etc ... "i don't care for your excuses, it's not the money it's the principle, etc .." and I paid him back like 5 days later
and it is ONLY with money, if plans change and non-financial, he doesn't care, accepts life isn't rigid, but when it comes to money, considering it's small sums (for him anyway) he flys off the handle
