Should i stay or should i go?

My boyfriend and i have been together just over a year now and problems are starting to arise because of his attitude. He,by nature,is very shy but sometimes comes across as aloof and stand offish.He will literally ignore people when we are in company especially if he doesn't know them that well and at times its been a little embarrassing for me.I am starting to find myself making constant excuses for him. But,his behaviour is also the same in front of my parents and sister. They have tried not to overwhelm him and let him be but sometimes he won't even say hello. They have started to question me on why i want to be with someone like this who is 'plain rude'. There have been lots of little things that he has done in front of my mom and dad,such as tutting when he's being spoken to and rolling his eyes.Should i stay with someone like this?
