| My boyfriend and I have known each other for over a year, been in a relationship for about 5 months now. I know everyone says this but honestly, we've been through (and worked hard through) so, so much together. We both live in San Diego, and he's on a trip in LA where his brother lives. Today on the phone he casually mentioned that he really thinks he wants to move there. In fact, he's been thinking about it a lot. Even though I tried not to be upset, I obviously was. He says he thinks I'm overreacting, he hasn't made a concrete decision yet, and even if he were to move, it probably wouldn't be for another 4-6 months. I've never believed in ultimatums or forcing someone into anything. If this is what he wants then there's nothing I can say or would even want to say to change his mind. My question is: If he thinks he's going to move away in 5 months, should I break up with him now? I honestly don't want to invest my time and feelings into someone who is just going to choose to leave. It's obviously a lot harder said then done. We both mutually care about each other so so much. He's my best friend. But I think I would be choosing the lesser of two heartaches if I just ended it now. What do you think? | |||
