Not sure if I am posting this in the correst place, but basically...
I'm female and I'm in France for Erasmus and I went to visit male penpal whom I've been talking to for 4 months and whom I know is Muslim and he told me he converted (within the past 2 years I believe) to Islam from Cathlicism. He knows I am atheist.
I stayed in his town for a few days and one time I was looking in his wallet (he was there and knew I was doing this) and I saw a condom in there. I didn't say anything and I don't know if he saw me seeing this part as he was paying for our lunch.
On the one hand, I think that this is normal for guys but on the other hand, I didn't understand because of his religion because I assumed that due to his religion he'd probably save sex for marriage or something. So then why have a condom?
I'm not an expert on Islam so I don't know these things.
The reason I am interested is partly general curiosity and partly because I do actually kind of like him in that way but although it was probably obvious to him (or maybe not because often guys can't tell when it is obvious), I would never seriously try anything knowing that a relationship isn't really feasible when I must go back to England and he will stay in France to study, and secondly when I believe that for a relationship to work sharing the same beliefs is important.
I also think it is possible he likes me a bit because of how he looked at me sometimes but I can't be sure.
