Husband lied about energy gum. Should I "rat him" to his best friend?

My husband "lied" to me about his caffeinated chewing gum.

My husband promised to work on his caffeine intake, did reduce coffee and so on... and than he started chewing a certain brand of gum, that was caffeeinated but I did not know.

He saw no reason to tell me. So he actually did not really lie but did not inform me and I think he knew that I did not know there was caffeinated gum. Who would ever come up with an idea like this.

Well he claims that the fact some gum is caffeinated is well known.

My question: I know his friend alst thinks he drinks to much coffee. Should I tell the friend that this gum is caffeinated or does a man feel this is treason?

Sorry for asking that twice. I just thought that asking specific questions here was better than asking general question in the general discussion.

I have to add I am also highly pregnant and need him by my side and I feel let down by him because he is creating all kinds of trouble by doing caffeine which makes his natural nervousness + hypervigiliance worse.
