Does society put pressure on men to look good equally - I'm a ridiculous example

  • Thread Starter

Do you people think society puts pressure on men to look good just as equally as women? Are men pressured in a similar way but people just don't talk about it?

I am probably a ridiculous example of someone who has taken everything a little too far with trying to look good, I think it's become an obsession for me.

Here is my story.. bit of a long one, but I'll try to make it as readable as possible: :)

Childhood
When I was a early teenager I quickly realised I wasn't getting the same attention from girls as some of my other friends were. I started getting depressed and knew I had to change my looks somehow or I would never ever get one of those cute girls in school..

Surgery and drugs:
When I was about 12 I started suffering from gynecomastia, which means male breast growth. It's actually very common, but mine were nearly the size of golf balls. This destroyed my self confidence.. I would never ever take my shirt off in public. When I got laid for the first times I kept my shirt on.. at 19 years old I got them removed by surgery.. took a few months to heal but after my chest (nipples) look perfect now.

I also suffered from acne at that age so did a year using a harsh anti-acne drug called Accutane which luckily cleared everything. I also go to the sunbeds sometimes, so I have a slight natural looking tan.

Lifting, Supplements and Steroids
I started lifting at 16 years old.. I trained hard, ate perfectly and spent my money on all possible supplements to get bigger and better looking. I had some pretty good gains but I still wasn't satisfied. After 4 years I realised my genes weren't the best for this and my gains had slowed down to nearly zero. Then I plunged into the world of steroids, starting with the milder ones and building my way up to some really strong ones. Luckily I did my research and did all measures to avoid side effects, but I still know it's really unhealthy for me. I've also been using some banned fat burners, that can be pretty harsh for your body. Now I have what some call "the perfect body", not too big but not too small; muscly and ripped. Finally getting that long wanted attention from girls.

Penis enlargement
Seeing only 8inch and + penises in porn, I convinced myself that mine was totally too small to please any woman (it was about 5inches). I sometimes heard some female friends of mine talking about big penises and it really crushed my confidence. I was convinced that you needed to have a big penis to be able to have good sex with a woman.

I did some research and found all these penis exercises that many men are doing. Some research showed it actually works, but very very slowly. 2 years after doing penis stretches and exercices every day, I've actually had some marginal gains with my penis lenght.. Now it's 5.9 inches and my confidence has increased.

What next?
I might stop steroids at some point as I realise they can have pretty bad long term effects on people.

One problem I'm having now is that I've started losing hair. It's not too bad but I can notice it a little already.. It's not from the steroids as I have male pattern baldness and my hair sheds even when I'm not taking them.

I've now invested in a lot of anti-hairloss drugs and perhaps next will save up for a hair transplant.

After reading this myself, I only now realise what an obsessive person I've become. But I must say, I'm a lot happier now than what I used to be.

I don't recommend anyone doing similar stuff what I've done, but just see how a man can feel very pressured to look good just like a girl.

What do you people think? Opinions
