Why do I apologise for asking a woman's age?

  • Thread Starter

I just suddenly thought to myself, I take apologising for asking a woman's age for granted, as thought it is some wretched low more depravity. I suddenly thought how absurd this is. Err so it's normal that wanting to know something relevant about you and the truth of it, is so rude, and it's also normal that we conduct a relationship on the basis that she is so insecure she won't even reveal a fundamental truth about herself. This is one more of these double standard which becomes apparent to me, and - the anon thread about 'feeling guilty about looking at other women when we are not an item' is mine by the way. It's just dawning on me more and more, why are us guys battered into these ludicrous moral double standards. I'd say someone who can't honestly reveal their age, and wants to conduct a relationship based on that, is far worse than someone who actually wants a relationship where they are aware of relevant things about another person.

It's bizarre.
