I've been with my boyfriend for 8 months and we have a great relationship generally - we do have arguments sometimes over stupid things like jealousy etc. but nothing out of the ordinary.
Right from the start however, he has slapped me around the face or choked me playfully. I was a bit shocked at the start however he made a comment about how he did the same to a girl he was seeing once and found it ridiculous that she took his joke so badly. I've never really minded as it is always done as a joke and when we're messing around. Last night we went for a drink and he slapped me quite hard a few times in public as he found it funny seeing other people's reactions around us. I've always just laughed it off and I honestly don't feel abused. Sometimes he'll put his hands around my throat or kick me in bed (again, jokingly) but hard enough to leave marks.
I know he loves me to pieces and I must sound ridiculous saying this but I know for a fact he would never lay a finger on me out of anger ever. Even reading this back I can see that it probably doesn't sound great but I was just wondering if there were any other girls/guys that have experienced or done this to their partner? I must admit I don't completely understand what he gets out of it but he's so loving in every other way.
