Hi...as you know I didn't get date nite b/c he wanted a boys only poker nite...(I ended up going out w/a friend)..
Monday nite he said he had "pre-op" meeting (he's having hip replacement Monday) and he wouldn't be able to help me with our son in the a.m. and I said, well, can you pick him up?
He said "no"...that "people are work are throwing him a "going away party" at a bar (that is ON MY WAY HOME AND ON MY WAY TO GET MY SON) ...He will be out of work for a month due to the surgery....I will be expected to be driving him to all of his appointments....oh, and I have a full time job, too!
I said, "How great! It's at a bar, a public place, not in a private room, I will plan to stop by for quick drink so I can "finally meet your co-workers!"....(I've never met his co-workers in the 6 years we've been together).
He said that there's been no occasion for me to meet anyone as he doesn't have family picnics like my company does.
And I said, "this would be a good opportunity for me to say hello".
He said, "You have to go get our son.."
I said "I know...but I have til 6:30 to do that and I don't plan on eating your food, or mooching on your tab, I plan to stop by and say hello....is there someone there THAT YOU DON'T WANT ME TO MEET?"
He said, "it's just a few co-workers and my boss..."
nothing more has been said about it.
That was 2 days ago. He said good bye very early to me this morning (as he had to go to the hospital to prepare for his surgery, Monday a.m.)....I asked that he let me know how the meeting w/doctors went...
I don't know if I'm going to hear from him today...
Would you advise still going and popping in?
If I do hear from him, would you ask if he still plans to go, and if so, what time...cause I'd like to say hi...
