Hi All. My first post here, found this site after days of frantic researching the internet.
On Wednesday last week after many days of deliberation, i confronted my wife about an affair i suspected she was having. She lied to me to my face to tell me there was nothing there, but her stories were suspicious and her attitude at home was worse than suspicious. At first i missed all of the signs, long private phone calls, thousands of texts a day and the frequent random trips to the store that last a couple of hours but upon returning having brought nothing.
So i presented the phone records and we had it out and she told me so many lies. That it was over becuase he wanted sex, and it was never sexual. That he had never been to the house, and the worst they ever did was make out.
I took her phone (knowing she would have deleted everything) and performed an operation on it to un-delete everything. To my horror I saw the reality of their relationship, which was more than sexual, it was pornographic, and that it had even happened in our house whilst our kids were sleeping upstairs during naptime.
So still trying to deal with this deception, not two days later i snooped her email again to find that she was talking to a guy on craigslist personal ads. They meet at the gym, and i confronted her on this. She told me im being stupid and that this relationship is strictly platonic, and my request for her to cease this relationship is unreasonable. In the next breath when i told her the content did not look platonic, she informs me that he came on to her but she had set the record straight. Now this is happening two days after she was caught having an affair.
Am i crazy? Am i over reacting. Here is a snippet from memory of some of the text i read that makes me think i have a right to worry.
My wife said to this strange guy she met on craigslist that started hitting on her.
if I knew you were interested in me as a person, I would be willing to see you. Who knows? Maybe in a month things will be different. I don't want you to think I'm shutting this down indefinitely. I just want to know you a little better, and I'd like you to know me a little better.
im not going to recall what he replied but it involved hot body and attracted to her, but the above was her response to him coming on to her. I asked why she would want to keep on seeing him at the gym and she says because he is a good trainer. He is not a trainer at the gym, just a random online meet that frequents the same gym.
