should i go back to my hairdresser or find a new one?

this 50 yr old gay guy has been doing my hair for about 7 years and has always done in beautifully for me with regard to both colour and condition. We always got along so well he was almost like a friend we laughed histerically and he knows me well. However, unfortunately, the last few times he seems to have gone a bit funny with me. The last time he was normal with me was when I started talking about my future ambitions and career plans etc and about the fact I wanted to find a guy get married and settle down etc. After this time, he turned with me. He started making rude comments sometimes in an aggressive tone and generaly being a bit difficult and off with me. Also, I think he has talked about me to another gay guy who he seems to know in the skin product department ( they both work in the same store but just different departments) where I go to buy makeup because this gay guy has also been very rude and made comments which have been ou t of order and he has generally been very outspoken. Furthermore, the last 2 times I have been to my hairdresser he has not done my hair very well . The first time, he did my hair a colour which he knows I do not like- a brassy goldy colour . the second time I told him that the last time he did it was not as light as it normally is and he said 'well I want you to go out with your hair on your head'. The colour seemed to be better but after a whille when I was standing in the changing room of a clothes shop I could see the back of my hair in the mirror and it was all snapped and broken off at the back it looked like a chunk of my hair was missing! This has never happened before and my hair always used to be soft and silky so it was a shock! I decided to grow my hair out to give it a rest and have not gone back to him for about 9 months now - the condition has improved A LOT but I am a bit nervous to go back to him in case he did it again or this time worse. My mum also goes to him as a hairdresser and she has said that he seems very interested to ask about me lately he seems frustrated when he does not get much info out of my mum about me ( my mum has recently deliberately tried not to talk about me and just answers 'she is fine.' )Also, when I go in to buy my hair products he seems to know there is something going on and the atmosphere is a bit awkward and then when I am paying for my products it lightens up a bit and we joke a bit like normal. On one occasion he asked 'so when are you coming to see me? I am going away on holiday in November....' I said I would be coming soon. That was in October and I still have not gone in yet.

Do you think I should go back to him? I am not sure what to do and am unhappy with my hair and the way things have been recently. He always used to do my hair so well and I am not sure if I can find someone who can do it as well as he did so easily. Do you think he did it deliberately and he knows why I have not come back in to see him for a while? or do you think he is innocent and knows there is something not quite right but can't understand what?

I guess I would like to feel things were just back to normal
