I have a friend who is wanting to set me up with one of her friends, who I have never met (I'll call her Alice).
My friend said that Alice has been single for +/- a few months. She was madly in love with the guy and was planning to move out of state with him because of a new job opportunity that he was offered. Apparently, right before the move, he left her high and dry. I dont know the details but he supposedly left without telling her, and said that he didnt have any feelings for her anymore.
Alice quit her job (which paid really well), put her career on hold, sold her car, and her apartment so she could run away with this guy into the sunset...
I have little experience when it comes to relationships and girls in general. I'm 21, and have been single for about 5 months now. I've only been in one relationship and it was long distance. She was my first kiss too.
I realize though, that Alice probably has some trust issues. She even told my friend that she really wants to meet me, however, she isnt sure if she is ready for another relationship (if something were to come out of it.) I dont blame her, but I think I might really like this girl so despite her caution, I'm planning to at least meet her and if we hit it off I'll get her number and ask her out.
Anyway, like I said I'm new to the dating game, so I'm not sure how to handle this one. If something happens, should I move slow? Or is she going to need alot of affection?
I'll say now, that I am pretty reserved when it comes to the basics (hand holding, kissing, cuddling w/e). Its not that I dont like it, I just have a weird phobia of doing these things for the first time so it takes me a while to get to it.
What do you guys think? Any advice is appreciated... I just dont know how to pursue this one.
