Boyfriend told me he doubts whether we would work long distance..

My bf told me recently he was having doubts about us because I'm going to uni. He said he wasn't sure if it'd work long distance. I can't help feeling awful :( surely this means he just does not feel that strongly for me? I honestly can't mean that much to him in the grand scheme of things if he's considering breaking it off just cos I'm moving an hour away? I feel like a total idiot because I just assumed we would try long distance, I didn't think there'd be any debate about it, certainly no time apart to think of what we both want. I want to be with him, there's nothing for me to think about. Maybe I'm being harsh because his last girlfriend did cheat on him when she went to uni and he has self professed trust issues about it but I can't help just feeling upset and annoyed about it.
