She's such a terrible texter

This girl i like, who i think likes me but not 100% sure. I have been meeting her at this weekly group, but as summer is approaching there are fewer and fewer meetings, so i rely on texting to be able to stay in touch. The thing is, she is so bad at texting, i mean i am always the one starting it off and i feel she doesn't want to talk to me, yet at the weekly group we talk and flirt fine. Her friends have also mentioned this problem but it's just annoying as its giving me mixed signals. I don't want to ask her out straight away as i want to get to know her first and not scare her off.
