Confused about this girl..

Hey, So I met this girl two years ago through a friend in college. We never really hung out or anything only because we had completely different time tables. My friend had a birthday party back in February and we started chatting a little more and laughing etc... Then my friend gave her my number the next day and we had a short convo, which went well. Then we didn't speak again for months, until last Monday... It was her birthday that following Friday and she asked me to come, but I couldn't come so I declined, she was fine with it and made me promise that I'd go Alton Towers with her and her friends during the summer, to which I agreed to. Then we spent the next 2 days or so talking constantly on whatsapp, we had this on going joke that I was gay and she was running around in circles trying to figure out if I was or wasn't, however, before any of this, she told me she was bisexual and then finally said lesbian. Once we stopped joking around and the conversation got somewhat 'deep ' or serious, I told her I was straight and she replied with a sad face, saying how I would have been her first gay friend. Then I asked her to tell me the truth, to which she said that she was a lesbian, and showed me a photo of her girlfriend, then we spoke for another day or so just joking around etc and then we just stopped again. Anyway, today I went out with one of her friends, just to hang out, and she told me that she was in fact straight and had a boyfriend who she recently broke up with...why would she lie? I don't know what to think..?
