Guy friend cut off all contact

This is a question for the girls. Say, you like a guy, he's single but you have a boyfriend, he's your friend, you talk to him, you chat to him online, he makes you feel good and then suddenly he sends you a message saying he's got a girlfriend and had feelings for you in the past and now wants to cut off all contact with you because he's moving on. He deletes you off Facebook and then ignores you in public. How would that make you feel? Well, that's what happened to me. He gave me a choice, we either stay friends or he cuts of contact and I suggested the latter may be more realistic. He was fine with it, deleted me and the other day walked right past me and ignored me. I'm upset, even though I have a boyfriend. I want to get his friendship back but don't have the faintest idea what's happened to him. Should I just confront him? He was someone I met from work, I really liked him and it hurts.
