Grumpy much?

This is an issue that is already solved in my marriage, but I thought it would be good to discuss it. Ladies, does your man just randomly get grumpy at you or the kids or anyone? Like everything is all nicey nice, and then suddenly his tone changes to all snarky and mean? I was hoping maybe some men, if they are aware they do this at all, could comment on it. I suppose women might do this, too...but I have gathered it is more common in men (due to reading on so many topics). I don't mean an overall general negativity. I mean going from literally sweet and nice in tone, to mean and grumpy, in a flash, for no discernable reason. In my husband's case, I think he was just really unaware that it was rude to do this. For a long time he just kept insisting I was "too sensitive" to these things, but I had to keep pointing out that I don't just suddenly turn grumpy and mean in my tone to him and that if I did, it would certainly feel bad for him to be in my shoes. Basically, we had to tackle this issue with our Marriage Builders skills. I had to get him to understand that even though he just considered me "too sensitive", that my feelings are valid and he needed to stop doing this (it falls under "annoying habits" in MB speak). Once he did stop doing it, he also started realizing that he really was just being grumpy for no reason out of habit and that it wasn't very nice of him. Now if he slips and does it every once in awhile, he immediately backs up and apologizes. I'm not talking about being grumpy because he had a bad day or something out of the ordinary was going on...those moments happen to all of us. I'm talking about just random, sudden, undeserved grumpiness. Just wondering if other women have had this experience, and if men who are aware they are doing this, had any insight into it.
