Bit of a crush on this boy at school?

Lately I've developed a bit of a crush on a boy at school and I'd like to get closer to him and see where things develop from there. We're both 15. The thing is I've never had a boyfriend before and I'm sure you've heard this story a hundred times... I'm kind of shy... We're not in the same friendship group... How do I get close to him?
