Ultra-partisanship apparently applies to movie casting, too

At lunch just now, the break room TV was - as usual - locked to Faux News. They ran a story about a supposed conservative backlash at Jane Fonda being cast to play Nancy Reagan in a movie. It sees, apparently, that her personal political leanings somehow should invalidate her from being the best actor for the job.

It's called "acting." Actors play roles that are far afield from themselves all the time and do a wonderful job. Or are we suggesting that, say, Anthony Hopkins really is a cannibalistic serial killer?
