my boyfriend wont come near me since I got glandular fever why

I know glandular fever is known as the kissing disease, and yes it is when you first contract it You can contract it through salvia and kissing or airbourne droplets. I first contracted glandular fever when i was 13 years old while in hospital this then progressed into ME and I missed out on about 4/5 years of school. Then it went away and I was better the symptons cleared and i thought i was free of it i got a lovely boyfriend moved away to university but this week ive just been diagnosed with reaccuring glandular fever, which means my M.E is coming back aswell. You cannont catch reaccuring glandular fever because the cells are already in my body and have mutated its a different strain of glandular fever the reaccuring one is not contagious. I told my boyfriend about it as ive been to tired tgo see him or a bit moody grumpy when ihave and hes literally read up on it, told me its contagious and doesnt want to come near me/ hardly even talks to me now. Fair enough if he was going to catch this and become ill but he wont i hardly want to be ill with this but i cant fix it and when i really need his support i feel as if im being punished
